Gonzo Cubes are 10,000 uniquely generated digital collectibles living on the Polygon blockchain.

Each Gonzo Cube is unique and programmatically generated from over 570 possible traits, including expressions, headwear, accessories, body and leg parts, fillings, specials, suprises and more. Every cube is gonzo, but some are more gonzo than others.

Filtration : Infiltration

This project examines the history of oil extraction in the state of Oklahoma through the expression of a physical form that directly represents energy expansion across the state through years of incessant growth starting in 1945 and continuing to the present.

Driven by python coding and data fabrication research, this piece in envisioned to exist as a physical installation with specific functional and aesthetic properties. Internally a substrate is formed (gallery images in red) through the connections of drilling locations and their respective operators over time. The outer form emerges by following the outermost drilling locations across the state. This two part system forms an elongated tube-like shell that encases a matrix of interwoven, entangled lines.

Culturally this piece is designed to incite a dialogue and increase community awareness around groundwater infiltration, contamination and the danger of over consumption and unchecked growth.

Aesthetically, a grotesque form emerges from the pure drilling data – a sinuous extrusion of tangled connections and a tense, stretched shell opens to its own future timeline with a gaping maw.

Functionally the goal of this piece is to act as a filtration mechanism. The large surface area created throughout the internal matrix and the long vertical solar absorptive outer shell (pipe) will move polluted air using simple convection from the bottom through the internal filtration matrix and out of the top. The main objective of the piece is to collect pollution particulates upon the surfaces of the inner matrix and hold these particles until a rain event, whereby the toxic particles are then washed through the object’s reverse timeline to infiltrate to the bottom of the piece, leaving an ever darkening and deepening stain upon and into the earth below.

Cellulose Bookcase

Cellulose Bookcase

This shelving system was created to explore the cellular alignment found in wood and plants. The shelving and sides are made of yellow pine, black walnut, and compressed wood fiber board. All of these components represent the cellular walls of of wood.

The voids, typically filled with water at a cellular level are replaced at a macro level with man-made refined cellulose — books. The pine shelf ends are oriented to expose the end grain thereby developing a dialogue between it and the highly magnified graphical representation of offsetting and volumetric variability that is present but imperceptible in the yellow pine to the naked eye.

A drift, or dérive is an unplanned journey through a landscape, on which the subtle aesthetic geographic contours subconsciously direct a traveller, with the ultimate goal of creating an entirely new and authentic experience.

I developed this app as tool to encourage new ways of seeing our environment and to support courses dealing with web interactivity in order to engage students in developing photographic series of work that they may incorporate into their interactive web art – to act as a catalyst to develop new creative trajectories.

Most flat sheet materials, such as wood, metal, and plastic used for architectural construction, are inextensible. This means that they cannot be stretched to make surfaces that have compound curvature. In order to use them to make “compound curved” surfaces, we need to create a series of flat patterns that can be assembled into a visual approximation. A surface that can be reduced to a flat pattern without being distorted is called developable.

The process of translating a compound curved geometry into pieces that can be developed is called rationalization.

In Rhino, create a surface that has significant compound curvature. Break the surface down into pieces that can be rebuilt as developable surfaces. Laser cut and assemble the pieces from white card stock or Bristol board.

• How close can you get the form of the physical artifact to the original digital geometry?
• How many, or few, individual components are required?
• Does the deconstruction need higher discretization at areas of greater curvature?
• How minimal can the boundary supports be to keep it in position?
• What is the best way to join the edges of each piece?

Acoustic Diffusion Panel

Diffusion is a popular, effective solution used in professional recording studios, listening rooms, and large auditoriums. Absorption panels can control these problems as well, but can sometimes cause dead sound if too much absorption is used in the small room. Diffusion on the other hand, adds a sense of spaciousness and retains the room’s natural ambiance.

This three-dimensional sound diffusion panel prototype is designed for installation into sound recording spaces or other areas  with acoustical control needs. Using a 7×10 grid array distributed across a 1 foot x 2 foot panel, each element or single ‘pixel’ within the array undergoes a series of modulations in their normal angle, extrusion height and side angles, and central void spaces.

Through these unique modulations per pixel, the panel provides excellent multi-reflection on both vertical and horizontal planes in sound critical spaces. It performs on mid and high frequencies, brightening and clarifying sound and is designed to evenly scatter sound energy and help eliminate comb filtering and flutter echo, acoustical problems that can seriously affect the clarity of sound in a room.

The prototype was parametrically generated through a custom written acoustic form finding algorithm using Rhino3D and Grasshopper. This algorithm allowed for unlimited visual iterations while performing optimization and energy calculation to determine the performant characteristics of each pixel manipulation.

In the next stage of development a mass production strategy will be identified and surface material testing will begin.

Dixieland Death Cult

Dixieland Death Cult

In Dixieland Death Cult, I wanted to capture the feverish spectacle of a society in decay. The painting grew out of the feeling that politics has become a theater of cruelty, where rage and fear masquerade as conviction. It is a portrait of moral collapse disguised as patriotic fervor, a vision of a culture circling itself in celebration of its own destruction. The figures twist and rot, their gestures both triumphant and hollow, their energy feeding on entropy. What begins as a ritual of belonging turns into a ceremony of erasure, a grotesque parade where empathy is the first casualty.

This work reflects a world where belief and brutality have fused into performance, where spectacle replaces substance and death becomes entertainment. The scene is filled with color and motion, yet everything inside it feels suffocated, stripped of tenderness, stripped of meaning. I wanted the composition to feel claustrophobic and seductive at the same time, like a flame that both draws and consumes. Beneath the surface, it speaks to what happens when power is worshipped without conscience, when identity becomes a weapon, and when the desire for purity leads to ash.

Tectonic Bodies

Tectonic Bodies #1

Tectonic Bodies is a series that investigates the layered relationships between anatomy, architecture, and machinery. In these works, organic structures are reframed as constructed landscapes: ribs suggest archways, vertebrae rise like stepped terraces, and ocular cavities become apertures or voids in a tectonic wall. The paintings hover between portrait and structure, where bone shifts into panelized surfaces and muscle into modular skin, evoking a hybrid language of flesh, steel, and engineered form. These works capture the tension of bodies understood not only as living matter, but also as sites of architecture and mechanical extension.

In Tectonic Bodies No. 1, anatomical references emerge through the suggestion of a skull-like cranium, eye sockets reimagined as cavernous portals, and a spinal ascent that recalls a stair rising through bone. The painting oscillates between recognition and abstraction, leaving the viewer unsure if they are encountering a face, a ruin, or a machine. By interlacing stone-like textures, robotic rhythms, and corporeal fragments, the series repositions the body as a tectonic artifact—something simultaneously ancient and futuristic, fragile and monumental.
